Survey launched to assess capacity training needs of SMEs

In order to assess the awareness and capacity needs of the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the timber industry to implement procedures related to timber legality, NEPCon and SFMI have developed the SMEs survey that is now also available online:

DSC00255 (2)If you own or are employed at an SME (being classified as SMEs according to the Decree 56/2009/ND-CP, currently trading and/or processing timber and timber products, currently exporting the products directly to overseas markets or working as contractors for exporting companies, or planning to export your timber and timber products), you are invited to share your thoughts and the experiences of your enterprise by filling out this survey.

Your participation will provide us vital information which will be used to develop the free risk mitigation toolkit for the SMEs and steer the design and implementation of related trainings for the SMEs later in 2015.

This is part of the EU-funded “Increasing Capacity of CSOs and SMEs to Implement FLEGT Requirements” Project, implemented by NEPCon and SFMI.

The questionnaire is divided into three sections: Part 1 asks for information on enterprise; Part 2 seeks to understand the enterprise’s capacity to realise product requirements; and Part 3 asks about the current awareness or understanding on FLEGT and other timber legality requirements. Filling out the questionnaires will take around 25 minutes to complete all three parts.

Answers will be, of course, confidential and all information provided will be used only for the purpose of capacity building.

Thank you in advance for your participation, and please feel free to share the link with colleagues or others who might be interested in, before 1 June 2015!
