MOU signing ceremony on investment towards FSC forest certification

(tuyenquangtv) – On 1 August 2015, Tuyen Quang Agriculture and Rural Development Department in collaboration with Woodlands Limited Company organised an MOU signing ceremony on the investment for FSC forest certification for one member limited forestry companies in the province. Under this agreement, Woodlands will provide part of the funding needed for environmental and social impact assessments, forest production and biodiversity assessments and support for forest management audits, for such companies.

(TTXVN) – The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) will bring immense opportunities to various industries in Vietnam as well as challenges for the timber sector. Under the TPP regulation, the imported material used for a timber products should not exceed 45 percent, whilst the current volume of domestic timber is not adequate to supply the timber sector.
