Timber processing companies show optimism towards global integration
(VOV) – Interview conducted by VOV with Deputy Director, General Secretary of Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association (VIFORES) on opportunities and challenges that Vietnam timber processing companies might encounter when a number of free trade agreements and voluntary partnership agreements are signed in the coming time.

Timber export facing barriers in Russian market
(VTV) – Vietnam timber export to Russian market currently accounts for less than 1% annual value export, although this is a potential market with a population of 140 million. Many enterprises said they have worked and had connection with this market but the language and tax barriers have triggered numerous challenges. Some enterprises have had their products end up in this market but need to go through intermediaries.

Enhance the information on timber legality
(Baochinhphu) – Signing the Voluntary Partner Agreement on Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) will help Vietnam improve forestry trading, fulfilling transparency and legality requirements, whilst promoting sustainable forest management and boost enterprise governance. There has been confusion among enterprises in searching for information regarding FLEGT-VPA. Enhancing the provision of related information therefore is crucial in the coming time.
